General Operations Manager (Nonprofit)
Alabang, MuntinlupaGeneral Operations Manager of a charity. Work for a very good cause.
We need someone with experience managing people and operations to lead about 5-6 employees who provide direct financial assistance to the poorest of the poor in the greater Manila area.
For the right person, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do the most meaningful and rewarding work anywhere and learn from highly accomplished leaders.
The Feathers project is about keeping human contact in charity. A small team goes into the most poverty darkened communities in search of those in the greatest need of charity and then we give it to them—directly. Feathers is mostly funded by partner companies whose employees become volunteers to ensure integrity in the process. We emphasize disciplined processes, transparency, and audits to ensure that we do not wander from the mission.
The job entails…
- Managing about 5-6 employees, including Field Advocates, a videographer, community relationship manager, social worker and volunteer coordinators.
- Owning outcomes end-to-end and ensuring results are achieved
- Scheduling/accountability of field personnel
- Ensuring accuracy of records and trackers
- Developing an annual plan and budget with the assistance of US and Philippines-based management.
- Managing the operations within the established plan and governance guidelines.
- Communicating with local governments, regulatory agencies, volunteers, Trustees, auditors, volunteers, and a small number of external donors. (Relationships are in place.)
Requirements:
- Integrity is crucial and we’ll ask for evidence that you have it.
- Ability to get results. To get things done. To organize, budget, and track progress.
- Willingness to visit the slums.
- Flexibility. Emergencies and weather can change schedules.
- Close proximity to offices in Alabang and ability to be there frequently
- Strong work ethic and ability to adopt an elevated sense of purpose. The schedule will probably be four long days per week and at least one Saturday a month.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and takes ownership of outcomes.
- Ability to establish good relationships with volunteers, donors and other constituents.
