Mid-Level DevOps Specialist

Alabang, Muntinlupa

Job Purpose

As a Mid-Level DevOps Specialist, you will play a key role in optimizing and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. Working closely with development, QA, and other stakeholders, you will take ownership of deploying product updates, managing production environments, and automating critical processes. You will focus on streamlining our CI/CD pipelines, enhancing operational efficiency, and resolving complex issues proactively. Your contributions will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring system stability, and driving improvements across our platform, all while mentoring junior team members in best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, SysOps, or Cloud Engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), including provisioning, monitoring, and management.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages for automation tasks.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues with a focus on uptime and system reliability.
  • Experience with system and application performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizations.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, load balancing, etc.).
  • Collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (development, QA, security).
  • Familiarity with security practices (firewalls, encryption, access management, vulnerability assessments).
  • Experience with automated testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an agile environment.
  • Proven ability to mentor and provide guidance to junior team members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure:
    • Oversee the configuration, deployment, and scaling of cloud-based infrastructure to support production and development environments.
  • Automate operational processes:
    • Drive the automation of repetitive tasks such as system provisioning, patch management, and deployment processes, ensuring faster and more reliable releases.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines:
    • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to support development teams and enhance software delivery cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
    • Work closely with development, QA, and security/compliance teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the software lifecycle.
  • Monitor system performance:
    • Continuously monitor production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability; troubleshoot any infrastructure issues as they arise.
  • Ensure system security and compliance:
    • Implement and enforce security best practices across cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Lead incident response:
    • Act as a key point of contact for incident resolution, troubleshooting system outages, and ensuring rapid recovery of production systems.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies:
    • Stay current with industry trends and evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve infrastructure efficiency and performance.
  • Document and maintain system processes:
    • Create and update documentation for infrastructure configurations, automated processes, deployment pipelines, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Mentor junior team members:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps specialists, assisting with their professional development and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
