Network Engineer (AWS NOC)

The AWS NOC Engineer is responsible for the setup, configuration, and optimization of our AWS servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and high availability. This role requires a strong understanding of AWS services, network engineering principles, and a keen eye for detail.
MAJOR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The right person for this role will be trained by a seasoned Network Engineer in Telephony from the U.S. to be able to take on the following responsibilities:
AWS Server Management
- Manage and configure AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3) according to company standards and best practices
- Optimize server performance and resource utilization
- Implement high availability measures to ensure business continuity
- Perform regular server maintenance and troubleshooting
- Manage database operations (import/export, reporting, querying)
- Provide root cause analysis for system issues
- Recommend and implement solutions for recurring problems
Security
- Implement and maintain robust security measures, including encryption, IAM roles, security groups, SIEM, and IPDS
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Ensure AWS resources are properly configured with SIEM systems for log management and threat detection
- Manage SIEM alerts and notifications
Backup and Recovery
- Implement and maintain backup strategies for AWS resources
- Test backup and recovery procedures regularly
- Ensure compliance with backup retention policies
Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of AWS infrastructure, configurations, and procedures
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for AWS operations
Incident Response
- Participate in incident response activities and provide technical support
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on AWS trends and seek automation opportunities
- Contribute to AWS infrastructure standards
REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Computer Network Administration or BSIT Major in Network & Web preferred
- Certificates/Training in Network Administration an advantage
- Some experience with phone systems (Asterisk or other similar PBX systems)
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Knowledge in SIP/VOIP, PBX, SQL databases, and analytical troubleshooting
- Exposure to or experience with AWS is a plus but not required
- Willing to be trained and has a passion for technology
- Ability to quickly switch between different types of tasks during day-to-day work
- Willing to work extended hours when support is necessary
- Preferably with a good internet connection at home (minimum of 25 Mbps) for temporary work-from-home arrangements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong team player
- Willing to work in Alabang, Muntinlupa when employees are needed back in the office (e.g., after lifting of quarantine restrictions or during home internet issues)
- Willing to work US business hours (8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, ET)
- Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done
